KWM01 (7:23:41 PM): The main charector is a guy who's running from guys who try to kill him all his life for no apparent reason QueenSidhe (7:23:42 PM): Instead of failing and bringing Taylor to the nightside. QueenSidhe (7:23:53 PM): Yes, but why couldn't Mrs. Barret have gone in to his office and then drawn a gun on him and shoot? QueenSidhe (7:23:56 PM): Taylor doesn't have his powers in the real world. KWM01 (7:24:08 PM): no the house wanted to eat him QueenSidhe (7:25:04 PM): But the house was brought to the nightside to kill him. And to kill him, the house wanted to eat him. QueenSidhe (7:25:14 PM): Skip all the house and just shoot the man. :P KWM01 (7:25:48 PM): lol QueenSidhe (7:26:24 PM): He's just a regular man in the real world. KWM01 (7:26:45 PM): true QueenSidhe (7:26:51 PM): Although, that makes me wonder. How does Taylor do his PI stuff if he doesn't have his special talents in the real world. QueenSidhe (7:28:17 PM): true QueenSidhe (7:28:57 PM): So, why did you think the book was dark? KWM01 (7:30:01 PM): The thing with his mother. His fathers suicide. The people trying to kill him since he was a kid. KWM01 (7:31:40 PM): the ending with what happened to Mrs. Barret QueenSidhe (7:32:12 PM): Ahh, true. KWM01 (7:32:58 PM): what do you think of his powers? QueenSidhe (7:33:27 PM): I think they're very powerful. You could do almost anything with the ability to find anything. KWM01 (7:34:30 PM): true, but it would make you a pawn for anyone who wanted to use you to find things. QueenSidhe (7:34:34 PM): He could potentially become an Authority if he had that ambition. QueenSidhe (7:35:09 PM): It depends on what your finding and for whom. QueenSidhe (7:35:27 PM): If you're doing it for your own gain, I don't see how he would become a pawn. QueenSidhe (7:36:21 PM): If he were to remain a PI who only finds things, then yes, he would like become a pawn unless he gets better at detecting manipulation. KWM01 (7:37:08 PM): Well, in the second book he's hired to find the unholy grail but people and others are trying to get him to work for them or hand it over. QueenSidhe (7:37:25 PM): There's a second book? KWM01 (7:37:33 PM): yup QueenSidhe (7:37:36 PM): How many are in the series so far? KWM01 (7:38:05 PM): two but another comes out in august KWM01 (7:38:30 PM): there are two other books in the same universe QueenSidhe (7:39:35 PM): hmm. cool. QueenSidhe (7:39:59 PM): It would be very interesting to see what Taylor does to bring on mass destruction. KWM01 (7:40:35 PM): but it might not happen now that he nows KWM01 (7:40:42 PM): knows QueenSidhe (7:40:49 PM): true. KWM01 (7:41:15 PM): favorite charector? QueenSidhe (7:41:34 PM): But if he doesn't go after finding out who his mother is, his mother might come after him. Different circumstances, might still get a similar effect. KWM01 (7:41:47 PM): true QueenSidhe (7:42:25 PM): Hmm. Maybe Razor Eddie. The book was too short to really learn about the characters. QueenSidhe (7:42:37 PM): Although, Taylor is cool just for his powers. QueenSidhe (7:43:04 PM): You? KWM01 (7:51:24 PM): I don't know, he ran from the Nightside because he couldn't take it anymore. QueenSidhe (7:51:41 PM): And also, Eddie did say that if Taylor hadn't gone after his mother, the world wouldn't have been destroyed. KWM01 (7:52:12 PM): which is wierd, I didn't think he was that powerful. QueenSidhe (7:53:53 PM): It depends on what he went and found after he discovered whatever about his mom QueenSidhe (7:54:06 PM): If he went and found how to destroy the world, he'd destroy the world. QueenSidhe (7:54:13 PM): Just like how he found how to kill the house QueenSidhe (7:54:17 PM): And Eddie KWM01 (7:54:19 PM): true QueenSidhe (7:55:05 PM): It's an interesting world, but I think the plot(?) was flimsy. QueenSidhe (7:56:05 PM): If he didn't have any ethics, Taylor could just go and find money to support himself. ;-) KWM01 (7:56:30 PM): I guess but I see the point of the way they did it too. Why make one attenpt on his life when you can lead him into ambush after ambush. KWM01 (7:56:38 PM): lol true QueenSidhe (7:57:00 PM): But there was only one ambush planned by the house. KWM01 (7:57:21 PM): the one outside the bar QueenSidhe (7:57:23 PM): The ambush with the horrowing was by Eddie and whoever is always trying to kill him. QueenSidhe (7:57:31 PM): Not is mother and the house. QueenSidhe (7:57:55 PM): The timewarp appeared to be just random. KWM01 (7:58:03 PM): maybe QueenSidhe (7:58:04 PM): Although, I'm surprised no one else walked into it. KWM01 (7:58:24 PM): maybe there did and got eaten QueenSidhe (7:58:26 PM): But, that might be explained away with the fact that it's new and most people don't go to that part of town. KWM01 (8:00:24 PM): I'm kinda surprised that Eddie was the only one left alive in the time warp. QueenSidhe (8:00:42 PM): Depends on what he used to destroy the world.
