QueenSidhe: It's more alternate earth. QueenSidhe: Lately, when I hear fantasy, I think of epic fantasy. QueenSidhe: And maybe w/ elves. QueenSidhe: So what else have you read recently besides Salvatore. ZorPrime67: sorry had somebody here ZorPrime67: let me think ZorPrime67: I read a lot of sci/fi from french writer although ZorPrime67: Just got back into fantasy ZorPrime67: Currently reading Wyrd Sisters from terry Pratchett QueenSidhe: I have Good Omens on my book shelf. QueenSidhe: I should take the time to give it a look. ZorPrime67: Didnt read that... yet! :-) QueenSidhe: I hear it's hilarious. ZorPrime67: It is QueenSidhe: Although, I don't know all that much about anitChrist and his story. ZorPrime67: The first 50-70 pages are sometimes confusing (for the books i read)... then its just plain hilarious ZorPrime67: Some people dont like it because they say its just stupid because they dont like humor in fantasy ZorPrime67: Snow crash is the next book to read right? sci/fi? QueenSidhe: Yes. QueenSidhe: I also heard that one is good. ZorPrime67: k. I'll go find it this weekend. QueenSidhe: It's about viruses and how it infect people, I think. QueenSidhe: I like them both. QueenSidhe: Although at the end of last year, I really didn't feel like reading epic fantasy. ZorPrime67: I understand... QueenSidhe: I'd picked up a book by goodkind that other people on the board said was very good. ZorPrime67: sword of truth series? QueenSidhe: Took a look at it (and all the pages) and set it back down. QueenSidhe: Yes. ZorPrime67: heh. one of my friend told me to read that. I look at the book and said sure but its huge!!! :-) ZorPrime67: is a slow reader QueenSidhe: Similar reaction to another popular author's work too. Last name starts w/ T or S, I think. ZorPrime67: late a bit but i can make it and stay for about 30-45 minutes. QueenSidhe: It used to be scheduled for 9pm EST, but when I was working over the summer, I didn't get home until around now. ZorPrime67: and its a trilogy right? QueenSidhe: Yes. Golden Compass, Subtle Knife, and Amber Spyglass. QueenSidhe: There isn't all that much religion. Just about original sin and some bits from genesis. Jillski2: here the used book stroes put a premium on scifi Jillski2: you can only get trade in credit to buy them IF you trade in scifi QueenSidhe: SF is better. Maybe 5 used bookstores within walking distance. QueenSidhe: I'd never been to a used bookstore (or heard of one) before moving there. Jillski2: wow QueenSidhe: I like half priced. QueenSidhe: All I know about the Bible is what I learned in hs English class. ZorPrime67: doh QueenSidhe: I have a hacked copy from my roommate so I can't get into b.net.
